The 31st annual Relay for Life will take place on Saturday

MONROE – The 31st annual Relay for Life of Monroe County will take place Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, 3775 S. Custer Road.

The victory lap and survivor celebration begins at 2 p.m. A silent auction runs from 2 to 6:30 p.m. A vendor and craft show will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. The Luminaria ceremony, in memory of those who have died from cancer, will begin at 9 p.m. Luminarias can be purchased at the event for $10.

A 5K Color Run/Walk is also planned. Participants will receive a T-shirt by post afterwards. To register, go to

Cancer survivors can register with Levensloop on Saturday from 1 p.m. Survivors receive a T-shirt; some will receive the shirt by mail after Relay for Life. Survivors will also receive an ice cream social, a goodie bag and coupons that can be redeemed at team sites.
