Jaipur, The Rajasthan government on Thursday said five people have died in the state so far due to the ongoing heat wave and added that media reports about the rise in deaths due to heat stroke are “beyond the facts” . Director (Public Health) Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur said the situation in the state is completely under control despite intense heat as the medical and health department had already started required preparations from March. “Five deaths have been reported so far due to the heatwave in the state,” Mathur said.

He added that the number of heat wave deaths reported by the media is “beyond the facts.”

“Death Audit Committee investigates suspected deaths due to heat stroke as per the parameters set by the Government of India. If a death is found to be due to heat stroke, it is certified as per these parameters and the report is sent to Integrate Health . Information Portal (IHIP) Only the figures released on the IHIP portal are authentic,” the officer said.
