Luka Doncic hits a shot off the logo during a red-hot start to Game 5 vs. Timberwolves

By Vaseline May31,2024

It looks like Luka Doncic is on a mission to start Game 5.

Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks entered the pivotal game with a 3-1 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference finals. The T’Wolves were fighting elimination in Game 4. That likely won’t be the case if they can’t slow Doncic from his blistering pace.

Doncic dropped his first five shots of the night and finished the first quarter with 20 points (Minnesota finished with 19). At one point, on consecutive trips down the court, he sank back-to-back three-pointers, one of them from the logo.

Doncic’s highest-ever playoff point total was 46 in 2021 against the Clippers. With his twenty points in the first quarter, he is on pace to break that.

The Mavericks were on a 26-5 run at one point and ended the first quarter with a 35-19 lead in Game 5.

Doncic finished the first half with 25 points after helping the Mavericks build a 29-point lead at the break
