How Arsenal could align with Benjamin Sesko and Arteta created a huge Kai Havertz dilemma

ARSENAL could finally sign a striker this summer as Mikel Arteta targets another Premier League title.

The Gunners narrowly missed out on the crown this season after finishing two points behind Manchester City.

Arteta is now looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2024-2025 season.

And according to reports, a striker is at the top of his priority list.

RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko has reportedly said ‘yes’ to a summer move, with the Gunners now eyeing a £45million move.

But given Kai Havertz’s strong end to the season at number nine, how would Arteta fit into the squad?

Should Arteta decide to splash the cash on Sesko, the striker – who has scored 18 goals for RB Leipzig this season – would likely jump straight into Arsenal’s starting line-up.

That means Havertz would either be moved back into midfield or forced out of the XI entirely.

The Germany international has played 37 games in the Premier League for Arsenal this season.

He played 24 games in midfield alongside Declan Rice, spending the rest as a number 9.

If he wants to play both Sesko and Havertz together, Arteta could even look to slot the latter into an attacking midfield position alongside club captain Martin Odegaard.

Havertz has praised Arteta since joining Arsenal.

How Arsenal’s 180-page dossiers on transfer targets led to excellent recruitment

He recently said: “He helped me from the first day I arrived and showed me a different spectrum of football that I had never experienced before and how to make myself better as a player on the pitch.

“I’m so happy that he helped me with a lot of things and that he is someone who wants to improve the players and that makes him special.

“I’ve never had a coach who was so detailed and showed so many different things that I might not have even known about.”
