GrubHub+ is now free with Amazon Prime

By Vaseline May31,2024

Amazon Prime members now get free ongoing access to GrubHub+, which is good for free delivery with a minimum order of $12. That stacks up nicely with the monthly Amex Gold card benefit.

The agreement

  • Amazon offers free GrubHub+ for Amazon Prime members.
  • Plus, Amazon Prime members can save $5 off a $25+ order until 6/2 by using the code PRIME5 at checkout.

Key Terms

  • Offer limited to one per customer and account.
  • Offer limited to Prime members
  • The offer is non-transferable and may not be resold.
  • Amazon reserves the right to change or cancel the offer at any time.
  • If you violate any of the offer terms, the offer will be void.

Quick thoughts

Previously, Prime members had access to one year of free GrubHub+ and then automatically renewed it for $9.99/month, but Amazon has now turned it into an ongoing benefit. For those who use it, it’s a great addition to a service you’re already paying for, and for those who don’t, at least you don’t have to worry about the auto-renewal.

Many readers report using pickup to avoid delivery fees when using their Amex Gold card’s monthly benefit, but this deal means they can opt for delivery if that’s convenient (as long as you’re willing to shell out at least a few dollars to give some pocket money). I’ll sign up for this even though I don’t often find a use for GrubHub, because this will at least make it worth using when I’m traveling in an area with GrubHub delivery.

My wife Erin and my first big trip together went around the world in 100 days for our honeymoon, a trip that included one car accident and one ticket in every country we visited (I think I may still have an arrest arrest warrant in New Zealand for an unpaid ticket, but we’ll keep that between us). We currently live in one of the few corners of Washington State where you can still get MS Staples gift cards at Safeway; we have a winery, ski after work, and hike as much as our aging knees will allow us.
