Mumbai: Two arrested from Nashik for cheating citizens with fake job offers

The Southern Region Cyber ​​Police have busted a gang that has been duping citizens by luring them with part-time job offers and arrested two suspects from Nashik. The names of the suspects are Himanshu More (21) and Prem Shewale (18). The police have seized 29 debit cards, 28 account books, 8 SIM cards from different companies and 8 phones from the suspect.

A police officer stated that the mastermind of this gang is in Dubai and controls the gang from there.

The suspect defrauded a female complainant, resident of Colaba, of ₹14.23 lakhs between February 28 and March 1. Based on the complaint filed by the woman, the Southern Region Cyber ​​Police registered a case on May 2 and initiated an investigation. The suspect had asked the female complainant to deposit money in various bank accounts.

During the investigation based on a federal bank account, it was found that the account holder was working as a waiter in a hotel in Nashik and had given his account to a young man in Nashik. On further investigation by the police, it was discovered that the suspect had opened around 60 accounts with the names of persons working in various hotels in and around Nashik.

The investigation revealed that the accounts were used to purchase U.S. dollars and send foreign currency to the suspect. Eventually, the police arrested More and Shewale and began further investigation into the crime.
