Single motorcycle crash investigated by Idaho State Police

The Idaho State Police are currently investigating a single motorcycle accident that occurred on Sunday, June 9, 2024. The accident occurred at approximately 3:05 PM at the intersection of I84 and I86, near Burley, Idaho.

Incident details

A 62-year-old man from Walnut Creek, California, was traveling eastbound on a BMW motorcycle when he encountered a puddle of water on the highway. The rider lost control of the motorcycle, causing him to be thrown into the median while the motorcycle remained on the roadway.

Result and response

Despite wearing a helmet, the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Idaho State Police were assisted by the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office in managing the incident.

Idaho State Police continue to investigate the accident to determine further details about the incident.

This accident follows a tragic weekend in southern Idaho. On Friday, June 6, a GMC driven by an 18-year-old man from Boise, Idaho, rear-ended a vehicle on I-84 near mile marker 196, resulting in the death of a 78-year-old woman from Eagle, Idaho. . Westbound traffic on I-84 was backed up for several hours while emergency crews responded.

Youth killed in single vehicle crash in Teton County

Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at approximately 3:40 p.m. The accident occurred at the intersection of 664 W and 6000 S in Teton County, near Victor, Idaho.

Two youths were traveling westbound on 6000 S in a red Suzuki King Quad 750 ATV when they struck a tree. The impact ejected both youths from the ATV.

First responders transported one youth by ambulance to a local hospital, while the other was airlifted to a hospital. Tragically, one of the young people succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
