Man dies in crash near Hampton while riding his motorcycle

A man was killed in a crash near Hampton on Saturday evening (June 8).

Officers were called at around 11pm following a collision on the A308 Staines Road East involving a black Porsche Cayenne and a white Yamaha Fazer 8 motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, a 35-year-old man, died at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

The road was closed for several hours, but has now reopened. Surrey Police have now launched an investigation and are looking for witnesses. A police spokesperson said: “Were you in the area around 11pm on Saturday? If you have any information, dashcam footage or helmetcam footage, please contact us quoting PR/45240064893.”

It comes as two separate fatal collisions took place this weekend. A woman has died in the early hours of a car crash in Caterham this morning (June 9). Two others were injured, one in a life-threatening condition.

Elsewhere, a man died in a car crash in Compton on the B3000 on Saturday afternoon (June 8). Surrey Police were called at around 2.50pm to the collision involving a white Nissan Micra and a blue Mazda 2. A police spokesman said: “The driver of the Nissan, a 64-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. Relatives have been informed and are being supported by officers.

“The driver of the Mazda was taken to hospital with serious injuries.” The B3000 was closed between Priorsfield Road and The Street for approximately six hours as the crash scene team conducted an investigation.
